The BMW 5 Series has won best executive saloon at the inaugural AA Ireland Car Awards and the BMW M3 wins in the Best Performance Car category.
The BMW 5 Series has won best executive saloon at the inaugural AA Ireland Car Awards and the BMW M3 wins in the Best Performance Car category. The awards, which are voted on by a panel of independent journalists took place at The Aviva Stadium, on Friday 7th October.
The AA Ireland Car Awards were launched to provide consumers with independent advice from a panel of expert journalists on what they believe are the best cars available to purchase in Ireland and are not limited to newly launched cars. The overall winner is, however, selected from new cars available on the Irish market (October 2021 – October 2022).
The BMW 5 Series scooped Best Executive Saloon and was a clear winner in its category beating off stiff competition from rivals, the latest model remains to be the accomplished all-rounder it’s always been
The title for Best Performance Car category went to the BMW M3, a car with enduring appeal and legacy, made all-the-more special as the M division of BMW celebrates its 50th Anniversary this year. Meanwhile the all-new BMW i4 came in joint second in the Overall Car of the Year category.
Paddy Comyn, Head of Communications at AA Ireland said: “BMW claimed a win in one of the most fiercely contested categories, the Performance Car Category with the M3, and with decades of experience in the executive car segment helped the ever-dominant 5-Series claim the Best Large Executive category prize. A mark of how much the brand’s EV range is thought of by the jurors is that the i4 was a runner-up for the Overall Winner title”
