Key Aspects of Picker Pals

One of the key aspects of Picker Pals is its ability to make litter-picking a fun and engaging activity. Children take the lead in organising these adventures in their local areas, involving their families and friends in the process. BMW and the dealer network in Ireland have taken an active role in this project, serving as a sponsor and working closely with Picker Pals. In addition, BMW has provided the ‘Pickermobile’, a fully electric BMW iX3 for the school visits which has travelled a total distance of 20,616 km, visiting 64 schools since 2022. Emblazoned on the sides of this special car are the lovable Picker Pals characters who have been instrumental in encouraging children to actively contribute to keeping their local environment clean and tidy.

Impact and Achievements

With the support of BMW, there are now 106 BMW-sponsored classrooms across the country, with a total of 2,372 children participating in the programme. When considering the adults and siblings who also join in, the number of participants in litter-picking adventures reaches nearly 6,000. Over the past two years, BMW Ireland and the dealer network have collected an impressive 16,563kg of litter.
